Losing weight and losing fat are not the same thing.
You can lose fifteen pounds and have a third of it come off your muscle. The scale will congratulate you. Your metabolism, your strength and your bone health will not.
This matters most in midlife, when muscle is already harder to hold onto, and it matters again on weight medication, where losing muscle alongside fat is a known risk worth watching rather than assuming.

Questions, answered.
Is this a DEXA scan?
No. The EVOLT 360 uses bioelectrical impedance rather than X-ray. DEXA is the research standard, and this is not pretending to be it. What a scan like this does well is track change over time in the same person on the same machine, which is what most people actually want to know.
How do I prepare?
Come reasonably hydrated, avoid a heavy meal or hard training in the hours beforehand, and if you are scanning again later, book a similar time of day. Consistency between scans matters more than any single reading.
Do I need to be a Terra patient?
No. Anyone can book a scan on its own.
Can I do this virtually?
No. The scanner is in the clinic in Paradise, so scans are in person only, even though much of our other care is virtual.
Will someone explain my results?
You get your readings and the app. If you want them interpreted in the context of your bloodwork, your symptoms and your history, that is what an appointment is for.
