What changed since April

The right kind of change.

The goal was never a smaller number on a scale. It was less fat around the organs and the same strong muscle.

93%

of everything that changed in four months was body fat. Muscle stayed.

Fat · 9.9 lbLean · 0.8 lb
Skeletal muscle56.6 lb

Held steady from 57.1 lb. Protecting it was priority one.

Visceral fat level15→12

Deep belly fat linked to insulin resistance, now falling.2

HbA1c5.8%

Down from 6.1%. Out of the prediabetes range.3

Hot flashes8→2

A day. Most nights now slept through.

What the scans show.

Scan 1 on April 15, Scan 2 on August 19, same device and same conditions. The shaded band on each line is the healthy range for your age and sex.

Where fat was carried in April

Fat mass by body segment. The torso was the one area well above range, so it is where the plan focused.

Bio Age

The scan’s estimate of body age, now one year from your real age of 51 (marked).

BWI score

Evolt’s lean-to-fat balance score. 7 and above (marked) is optimal.

Weight, in context

173.5 lb in April, 162.8 lb in August. We track it, but it is the least useful number in this report. Almost all of the change was fat, which keeps metabolism strong in midlife.

Bloodwork · April and August

Your labs, grouped by what they tell us.

Canadian units. Each line runs on its own scale, with the target zone shaded.

Hormones

FSH, April68 IU/L
Estradiol, Aprilunder 100 pmol/L
Estradiol, August, on therapy240 pmol/L

April confirmed menopause. In August, hormone therapy is giving a steady level that matches the drop in hot flashes and night waking.

Checked in April, all in range

TSH 2.4 mU/LFerritin 45 µg/LeGFR 92

Thyroid, iron stores and kidney function were normal. All three are repeated with the full panel in December.

“Sleep through the night again.”

Visit note · August 19, 2026

A note from your visit.

Visit 2 of 3 · Claire M.

Claire, it was so good to see you today. In April you told me you were tired of being tired. Today we put your April results right beside your August ones, and the picture has shifted.

What we reviewed

Your second Evolt scan, your follow-up bloodwork, your symptom scores and how the plan has fit into real life since spring.

What is working

Your hormone therapy is settled in. Hot flashes are down from eight a day to two, and you are mostly sleeping through. Your metabolic treatment is doing its job, and the stomach upset from the first few weeks has passed. Most important, you kept your muscle. That is the strength training three times a week and the protein at every meal paying off.

What we adjusted

No change to your hormone therapy. We are holding your metabolic treatment at its current dose rather than increasing it, because your progress is steady and protecting muscle comes first. Your vitamin D is now in range, so stay on the same daily dose.

What we are watching

Your fasting insulin, HDL and ApoB are all better but not yet where we want them. Inflammation has halved and is close to target. We check all of these again in December.

What the evidence says
  1. The Menopause Rating Scale is an 11-question checklist covering hot flashes, sleep, mood, joints and bladder. Scores of 17 and above are considered severe, 9 to 16 moderate.
  2. Visceral fat sits around the organs. Higher amounts are linked to insulin resistance and heart disease, and it tends to rise after menopause as estrogen falls.
  3. Diabetes Canada defines an HbA1c of 6.0 to 6.4% as prediabetes. Below 6.0% is the normal range.
